Here a Christmas, there a Christmas

Hooray, I am finally posting about Christmas, and that means both sides of the family will be very happy that I am posting this :)

So we totally surprised my family and went to Ohio for Christmas.  My dad knew we were coming, which meant the secret was super safe.  My mom had no idea, and it was quite fun to see her face when we walked in the house.

So onto some pics, because you know I like to take lots and lots of them :)

We have a few Christmas traditions in our little family of three that we had to take with us to Ohio.  First is below, Matt reading The Night Before Christmas book to Kylie.

Then there is the milk and cookies from Santa, on the same plate each year...oh and some carrots for the reindeer too.  As you can see the reindeer and Santa enjoyed their treats :)  Our other tradition is homemade cinnamon rolls, sorry somehow I did not get a pic of the deliciousness....probably too busy eating them!

I'm pretty sure this was Kylie opening up her gas station and train cars from Uncle Joey.  Perfect to go with the train that Santa got her!

Here she is opening the Rudolph fabric book I made her...yes, I enjoyed it more because of the labor of love :)

These are the jammies I made her...part of them anyhow.

Grandma Karen and Papa Joe must have a hotline to Santa...they got her the tracks to go with her train.

And the Strawberry Shortcake blanket I made her.

Digging way down deep into that stocking!

She was showing off her Monkey Hat from Aunt Jen...she wears it all the time too!

It goes perfect with her coat from Aunt Jen too...another thing she insists on wearing every day...she loves it!

Lots of silly socks from Aunt Jen too...she loves socks, the only kid ever to love such a thing :)

And a blue monkey, her favorite color...from her Aunt Jen!

Running over to give her Aunt Jen a big hug for all her presents.

Haha, so I was wanting to start a wager to see if the fire department would be called for deep frying the turkey or the fire pit..just kidding, I know they had it under control.  Matt and my dad had a good time working on the bird and keeping warm by the fire.

Oh yeah I almost forgot, Kylie got the Blue Crew package for Christmas too, and she is definitely one of the cutest Royals fans!

Matt sporting some pajama pants I made him.  The fabric is cars, since he loves to buy her hotwheels cars all the time...right now she has about 100 or just over that..crazy!

And now it is time for some fun in the snow! I love how she waddled with her snowpants on from Grandma Karen and Papa Joe.

Happy because she is about to chuck that snow at someone!

Can't play in the snow without making a snow angel.

This one is too cute...she is running away after she chucked the snowball at Matt.

All sorts of rosey cheeks and waiting for some hot chocolate after she came in from the snow.

She loved everything about Ohio and was asking when we are going back to see everyone when we were driving back to Kansas.

Speaking of Kansas, how about some more Christmas here.  She is the best helped and did such a great job passing out all of the presents to everyone.

And here is where she began opening up everything.

As much as I tried to keep things separate to know what was from everyone, I totally could not remember.  This little lady was surely spoiled by everyone alike.

I'm pretty sure these are the paper bag puppets that her Grandma Nancy got her, and she absolutely loves them!

Another favorite gift...chocolate from Frandma.  She loves her chocolate and we owe that to Frandma...a way to Kylie's heart for sure!

And the grand finale...a car for Kylie!

She loves her new ride, and it even has an radio in it!  My favorite is the remote that comes with it...I can drive her all around and she just giggles so much!

Kylie and Frandma enjoying their favorite...chocolate!  We found this cake at a restaurant and tracked down the bakery that supplies them, and ordered a couple (Chocolate Mousse Torte) Love them!

Snow Days

It ended up being that Kylie had some sort of stomach virus that started on Valentine's Day and lasted for about 5 days...no fun for anyone, and then Matt and I got a touch of it too, but luckily not as bad as the kiddo.

So what happens when she is well and ready to return to school....a snow storm, and no school, and then another snow storm and no school again.

We were all getting some cabin fever, first locked up for sickness, and then because of all the snow.  I think we got about 10 inches (give or take) each snow storm, so it has definitely been piling up outside.

The best thing was to get out there and play in it and enjoy it, and then come in for some hot chocolate and nice nap for everyone :)

Here are some pics I captured of our snow monkey!

I love that little smile, too bad it is because she was ready to chuck that snow at me!

Nothing like our girl making a snow angel....love it!

Another smile, with a larger snowball to throw at me while I took her pic...lol

We all worked to make a giant snowman, and if the snowman's nose goes missing, you might want to ask the little lady below....chomping on a carrot.

Hooray, our giant snowman...snowwoman?

Looks like I put these pics in here in the wrong order....the pics all above are from the 2nd snow storm and the last couple are from the first one...oh well, snow is snow, right :)

This one looks kinda funny, Matt is trying to hollow out the igloo he made for Kylie, but it looks more like he got buried in the snow...lol

Here is our little snow monkey crawling inside her igloo!

Hope you enjoyed our snow pics.  I know, I still need to post about Christmas..I will get there one day :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

This was taken sometime last week or so, when we went to a Valentine craft at one of our libraries.  Kylie enjoyed making a pretty valentine for her dadda!

Today on the other hand, not so fun when she woke up and vomited a couple times, and then again a little while later.  Needless to say we have been laying low on this Valentine's Day and making Valentines and watching movies.  She is doing well overall, and no temp, so that is one less thing to worry about.  Hoping the stomach bug gets squished here pretty soon.  Loving our sweet Valentine girl!

Kylie's Grandma Nancy bought her such a beautiful dress for her to wear for Christmas.  I was instantly in love with it when we saw it, and the matching tights and shoes...simply beautiful!  I took the shoes to a store with me to try and match the color to make a headband.  I found the perfect match, and it all came together so perfectly for our princess!

With everything all put together, we were off to meet the big guy!  So here are some pics I got of her before we headed out.

Despite what Matt may say, she is not praying for me to stop taking her pics :)

They had this old truck outside the store with lights on it...Kylie thought it would be fun to hop on the side.

Here we are getting close look at one of Santa's elves.

Look, it's one of Frosty's friends!

Kylie and Matt playing with the electric race track.

Time to drive the trains

Okay, so the big guy wasn't scheduled to show up until later that afternoon, it's okay because it was good practice and she got to sit in his chair for this sweet pic!

This girl absolutely loves to make silly faces.  It is almost tiring for me to do her hair in the morning, because she keeps on making silly faces at herself in the mirror.  I try to enforce a no wiggling, and no faces while I do you hair, but she just can't help herself....she is her father's daughter aka goofball.

There's my sweet girl!

Okay, so I think this way from Operation Meet Santa take 2.

She's got her letter to Santa with what she wants and good things she did this year (last year).

First time she sat by Santa all by herself, and we didn't need to be in the pic too!  She smiled for the pic they took, and that was incredible!  Yay for her getting so big and doing so many great things!

They had a carousel at Bass Pro too and she was so happy to get the Polar Bear!

Beautiful smile and looking at the camera!

This one is just too sweet!

We went over to visit Frandma to make a gingerbread house she had gotten for us.  I thought working on it with her would be for some fun and sweet memories to share.  These girls were hard at work.  I think it was the first gingerbread house for all of us, so that made it more fun!

I think it turned out great!

After we were all finished, Kylie asked Frandma to read her a book that Frandma used to read to Matt when he was little.   I couldn't help but snap a couple pics of the two ladies.

This is one that would just melt your heart!

A quick snapshot of Kylie wearing a Christmas outfit I made her.

We were so happy to join our friends and the celebration of their sweet little girl's first birthday!  Sorry, I didn't get a good shot of the three of them together but this one sure is cute!

Kylie was so happy to see her friend Dylan at the party...just look at how cute they are together!

Our little lady was under the weather, so we hung out on the couch for a few days watching movies and laying low.  She just looks so sad when she is sick :(

She was finally fever free, but not really up to snuff for her last OT session.  Yep, she graduated from OT and it was to be her last session, but we opted out to play it safe since she was still pretty run down.  We did get to drop off some gifts for her OT.  A scarf and a photo book I made of Kylie and her OT, as well as pics of Kylie doing things she didn't do before but can now do....all thanks to her OT!
