Swinging into fun times (Ohio Trip)

Just when I think I am getting caught up on the blog, I fall behind :)  So let's get back into it and start with our trip to Ohio.  I can never say enough how Awesome Kylie does when we are on the road.  I think she only asked to stop twice in our 15 hour drive.

Here is a cheese smile part way through the drive.  I will let you all know that we picked up a new camera lens on our drive, so I was able to use the nice camera for our trip...yay!

She's got her head on her penguin pillow pet that she named Shoes...no idea, but she likes it :)  She looked so cute resting her head on it while watching a movie.  That is one key to her success in the car....movies, and lots of snacks!

We got there in the evening, so we ate and relaxed.  The next morning we stopped at a nearby school and Kylie had fun on the playground equipment.  So cute with her Papa Joe pushing her on the swing!

So I tried to get a pick of everyone on the swings and going at the same time...Grandma Karen, Uncle Joey, Matt, Kylie, and Papa Joe.

Getting some help from Papa Joe to get across all the rings.

Now it's time for the monkey bars!

Looks like Uncle Joey is a pro at the monkey bars!  I think we will let him be in charge of teaching Kylie :)

Trying to do it all by herself.

Kylie found this purple flower and I thought it would be perfect for a picture.  One of our IS friend's was in the hospital, so Kylie was wearing purple for her, and then holding this flower out to her too.

I remember making these flower..okay, they are more like weeds, but anyway...making like a headband of sorts out of it when I was little.  I made one for Kylie and she wore it for about a minute...so here was a quick pic before she ditched it.

I just love this picture SOOOooo much! As soon as we got out of the cars, Kylie said she wanted to go with Uncle Joey...so she ran over and grabbed his hand.  Just so sweet!

We were going to head somewhere for lunch, but got sidetracked when we saw that my parents local fire dept was having something there.  Kylie is as big as the wheels on the fire truck!

Ready to help out the fire dept with her helmet on!

They had a fishing game and of course she wanted to do it...after all, she fishes with her dadda all the time!

They had a few animals too, and I have no idea what got into her but she was making sounds back at them...I guess she was trying to speak their language.  At any rate, she had a great time and it was cute to see her being so silly!

Trying her very first snow cone! Of course she picked blue..her favorite color :)

What a great way to end the night than with a new doll from Grandma Karen and Papa Joe, and to have Papa Joe reading her a book.  You will see the cute princess bed and Tinkerbell bedding my mom got her...she loved it so much she had us all practice putting her to bed so she could lay in it..lol

Brushing up with the Royals

*So I noticed that I never finished this post from April, and I couldn't just skip it, so here it is:

Kylie had her 2nd visit to the dentist mid-April, she was supposed to have it in March, but that was when she was sick with the flu I believe.  Anyhow, we had our handy iPad with us with the social story I created for our trip to the dentist.  I mixed it up with some pics I had taken at our last visit and when we toured the place, and also some pics I snagged from a Google search.

I can not stress enough how much it helps to make those little books and things for Kylie, and really any kid that is uneasy about going to the doctor, dentist, or getting a haircut...works wonders.

You will see Kylie's battle wounds on her knees...she got those the night before when she went out fishing with Matt.  She was kind of over the whole fishing thing and was walking around the pond with me.  We were being silly and running around, and that is when it happened.  And to think on top of the wounded legs, I was going to take her to the dentist the next day...oh boy.

She did a great job at the dentist!  Here you will see her with the hygienist, and she is letting Kylie use the tool to brush her teeth...yay for Kylie!

I was just blown away with how she let the girl floss some of her teeth.  What a big girl!

After this we went to get some x-rays, and Kylie wasn't too sure about keeping the apron on for them to take some pics.  The girl then asked me if I was okay to let Kylie sit on my lap, and I could help hold the apron on.  Sure thing.  Then the next issue was the girl...ahh, she would count to 3 super slow and then take the pic, it was on 3 when Kylie would spit the little deal out of her mouth.  I suggested she snap the pic on 2 or 1, she wasn't so fond of my suggestions.  By now a line and audience was forming and that made Kylie more anxious, so we stopped there.  We got one good pic, and everything looked great!

Here is Dr. Jenkins in to see Kylie.  She is really great with the kids, and she got Kylie to giggle a bit...that's a huge plus in my book!

Dr. Jenkins checking things out, and sure enough, she found more Tinker Bell Sparkles in Kylie's mouth!  She said everything looked great.  At checkout, Kylie got a bag of all the dentist goodies, a little toy, balloon, and some ice cream.  Yep, they give kids ice cream at the dentist!

Making some pig noses in the mirror..I think this was actually before we left to go to the dentist.  Silly girl!

Here is a cuter pic, playing with a necklace that her friend's momma made for her as one of her birthday gifts last year.

Yay, she did such a great job at the dentist!  Here is a "hooray, I did it!" pic I took when we got home.

I had got Matt a game pack to some Royals games for Christmas, and signed Kylie up for the Blue Crew.  So here are some pics from Kylie's first few games of the season.

This one just makes me smile...she was back by the fountains in the outfield and cheering for her Royals!

I'm hoping to get pics of her by all of the letters that spell out Hall of Fame, so we can put them together.  Somehow we keep forgetting to take the pics when we go to the games..oops!

Dadda's berry beautiful flower girl

Kylie's school was scheduled to go to The Berry Patch, so we thought we would head out there ourselves, to get her more comfortable when it was time for her school to go.  The patch was having some not so great picking reports the week before, so they ended up cancelling the school trip.  That was sure not the case when we went...we got lots of berries!

Love the cute little hand with some blueberries in them!

Look at my berry thumb...it's purple!

I think we both ended up picking about the same amount of blueberries.  Here she is with both of our buckets not too long before we decided we wer all picked out.

Heading back to get our berries weighed.

Just look at all of those berries we got!

We went inside their little store to hand them our slip so we could pay and then pick up our berries. While we were inside, we had to get a couple of their yummy treats and a list of some great blueberry recipes.  I got a giant blueberry muffin, that was so warm...just baked!  Kylie got this monster cookie that she loved, and she ate the whole thing too!  I tell you, that blueberry picking is a lot of work, so you will work up an appetite :)

While we ate our treats at the picnic table outside, Kylie spied some kids sitting on the top of this tall tree stump.  So when she was all done eating, she asked me to put her on top of it, so I did and she loved being up there.

That's it for blueberry picking...on our way home to bake something yummy!

Father's Day was nearing by, so I put Kylie's shirt on her that says "My Dad is the Coolest"...thanks to her Aunt Jen for the shirt.  And we headed to the park to take some pics.  Now, I can tell you taking Kylie to her favorite park to do this, probably wasn't one of my best ideas, because she wanted so badly to go, go go.  Here is a pic I got of her right before I stuck her in the swings to finally let her play.  This pic is now in a frame on the night stand next to Matt's side of the bed.

They have these cute little houses at the park, and one of them is a schoolhouse that she absolutely loves!  It's fun when she is the teacher and goes inside and starts saying her ABC's, counts, and sings some of her favorite songs from school!

So she is also a little monkey and loves to climb.  Here she is trying to climb from the door to the window.

Sure enough, she did it!

You may have to zoom in on this pic, but here is the end result for the pics I took of her for Matt to have.

Mid June or so, Kylie was in a wedding.  She was very excited to get to wear a pretty dress, and loved when I would let her try it on at home!  I made the sashes for both of the flower girl dresses, so that meant she got to try on her dress a few more times :)

We are finally making more headway in the picture taking process, but we are getting the true "cheese" smile, and getting her to do it while looking at us is a feat in itself :)  Here is the first one I took of her on the day of the wedding.

Both flower girls and the little ring bearer...they were all so darn cute!

Suckers to keep the talking to a minimum while the ceremony was going on...she was definitely a fan of them too!

I had made some little "Car Caddy" or "Car Haulers" to store a hanndful of hotwheel cars for some quiet play.  We often use this when we go out to eat somewhere, and now we can say we used it at a wedding too!

The bride and groom had some pics taken at the very park we went to for the Father's Day pics.  Kylie was definitely a fan.  Here she is with the other flower girl, playing in the jail.

Sitting in the window at the bank building.

This is one of the cutest pics!  During the reception, Kylie pointed out a little guy and said she wanted to dance with him.  I told her to go ask him to dance, and she did!  He was older than her too...5 yrs old, next to her 3 1/2yrs.  Anyhow, they danced to like 5 songs straight, and one time he let go of her hands, and wiped them on his pants...so cute!  She quickly grabbed his hands back to keep on dancing with him.

Here is a little video I put together of my favorite pics and some video if Kylie dancing at the wedding.  Most of them are repeats from the pics above, but still cute, right?

Lastly, the day after the wedding was Father's Day and we joined the bride and groom along with their friends and family for a brunch the following morning.  Here is a cute pic of Kylie and her dadda out on the balcony.
